The Waiting Room

Three women from different time periods meet in a modern doctor’s waiting room, each suffering from body "enhancements" and societal pressures in this dark comedy. Forgiveness, an 18th Century Chinese woman, has had her feet tightly bound since she was a young girl. Victoria, a 19th Century Englishwoman is corseted daily and suffers from “Hysteria.” Wanda, a modern woman nearing 40 thinks it necessary to surgically enhance her body with liposuction and breast implants. This play analyzes the lives of these three women, as well as our society, the drug industry and the politics of breast cancer.
