Sister Aloysius, a stern nun running a Bronx Catholic school in 1964, suspects their charismatic priest, Father Flynn, could be abusing boys at the school. The play explores nuanced themes of faith, certainty, power, and doubt as Sister Aloysius grapples with how to act, despite lacking hard evidence.
Winner of the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and 2005 Tony Award for Best Play.
May 7-10 & 13-16
Directed by David Andrews
When the body of Sir Charles Baskerville is discovered on the grounds of his estate, is his shocking death a murder, or just the latest manifestation of a curse that has plagued his family for over two centuries? England’s greatest consulting detective, Sherlock Holmes, is engaged to solve the mystery.
August 13-16 & 19-22
Directed by Karrie Waarala
It's 1996 and Marjorie Preston's theatre is presenting Rapture in America on Friday -- if she can make it to Friday. The problem is that her theatre is in a southern city and the play features (bad) homosexuality and (worse) full frontal male nudity for all of 7 seconds. And now the mayor, clergy members, book banners, lawyers, critics, and the playwright himself all have something to say about it. Southern Rapture (based on a true story) hilariously dives into what happens when art, religion, and government collide.
November 5-8 & 11-14
